Bungarri-yana (hill walk)

Location: Gulaga National Park
Client: Gulaga National Park Board of Management & NSW National Parks & Wildlife Service
Scope: Concept to Detailed Design

Bungari-yana (Hill Walk) is located at the foothills of Guluga and adjacent to the historic township of Central Tilba. A proposed day use area includes picnic facilities for visitors to enjoy, and an informal gathering space for seating, cultural tours and outdoor learning.

The Bungarri-yana site was a relatively recent land aquisition and as such, did not have a strong NP identity at the main arrival point from the township. The design sought to address this through interpretive elements that acknowledge traditional ownership of the land and communicate the deep cultural connection that the Yuin people have with Country.
