Flame Tree Landscape Design first became involved with Shillington Gardens through the preparation of a masterplan. The property already boasted incredible landscape value; with remnant plant communities containing majestic Red Cedars, a creek bathed in dappled light and views stretching out to the coast. The pool & studio project is the first significant elaboration for the clients. We worked closely with architects Raddatz-Kueber to create a simple, restful space that didn’t compete with the calming qualities of the site. We wanted the clients to experience swimming in a forest and floating in the landscape.
